Vocational Rehabilitation
Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) provides services to eligible individuals to help prepare them for work, find a job, and live more independently. You can get help with:
- Vocational Evaluation/Testing – to help you choose the job that is right for you.
- Vocational Counseling and Guidance – a Vocational Rehabilitation counselor works one-on-one with you to provide support as you work toward your job goal.
- Medical/Psychological Restoration – helps manage your disability so you can work.
- Training and Education – you can get training and education to help you work, like:
- Short-term vocational training
- Self Employment
- College or University-based training
- Job Placement-when you are ready for work, you and your counselor will determine the services you might need to obtain a job.
These services may include:- Job Coaching
- Supported Employment
- On-the Job Training
- Referral to an employment service such as Choose to Work or the Department of Workforce Services
- Work-site accommodations
- Tools or equipment
- Follow-Up Services-these services may be provided, if needed, to help you keep your job.
