Vocational Rehabilitation

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) provides services to eligible individuals to help prepare them for work, find a job, and live more independently. You can get help with:

• Vocational Evaluation/Testing – to help you choose the job that is right for you.
• Vocational Counseling and Guidance – a Vocational Rehabilitation counselor works one-on-one with you to provide support as you work toward your job goal.
• Medical/Psychological Restoration – helps manage your disability so you can work.
• Training and Education – you can get training and education to help you work, like:
  • Short-term vocational training
  • Self Employment
  • College or University-based training
• Job Placement-when you are ready for work, you and your counselor will determine the services you might need to obtain a job.
  These services may include:
  • Job Coaching
  • Supported Employment
  • On-the Job Training
  • Referral to an employment service such as Choose to Work or the Department of Workforce Services
  • Work-site accommodations
  • Tools or equipment
• Follow-Up Services-these services may be provided, if needed, to help you keep your job.
