UTAH WORK INCENTIVES INITIATIVE (UWIN)
Utah's Medicaid Infrastructure Grant

The overall goal of the Utah Work Incentives Initiative (UWIN) project is to create a comprehensive, consumer-responsive system of work supports that will increase employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities in Utah. The Utah Department of Health, Division of Health Care Financing is the UWIN grant recipient.

The Utah Work Incentives Coalition (UWIC) was created to provide an oversight body with a strong consumer voice, to guide several work incentive projects under the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Act. The Coalition was organized around task oriented work groups to advise state agencies, providers, schools, and consumers concerning Medicaid Buy-In, Employment-Related Personal Assistance, research and evaluation, outreach and training, and Employer Education.

The project assists in implementation of the Medicaid Buy-In for working people with disabilities, expansion of Employment-Related Personal Assistance Services through the Medicaid State Plan, and conducts training for service workers and outreach to individuals with disabilities to explain the work incentive changes.
