IRWE - Impairment Related Work Expense SSI or SSDI recipients Individual pays for his or her own services needed for work, i.e. bus pass, job coach, etc. In the event the IRWE is used for a job coach, the amount paid to the coach reduces the individual's countable income.

Ticket to Work SSI or SSDI recipients Employment Network (provider or business) provides supports needed by the individual with a disability

  • Individual assigns ticket to an Employment Network
  • EN provides supports
  • Payment to EN based on individual's earnings and increase in earnings over time

Subsidy SSDI recipient Employer provides supports to individual equaling a portion of that person's salary. Reduces the individual's countable income by the value of that support.
